Antec 2017 Agenda Posted for Plastic Pipe and Fittings SIG
There are two sessions at the upcoming ANTEC meeting of the Society of Plastics Engineers focusing on Plastic Pipe and Fittings during the conference scheduled for May 8 to 10 at the Hilton Anaheim in sunny Anaheim, California.
The first session will be from 200 PM to 500 PM on Monday, May 8th. This session is jointly hosted by the Failure Analysis and Prevention SIG as well as the Plastic Pipe and Fittings SIG. The joint session schedule along with the presentation titles and authors follows.
2:00 pm - 2:30 pm The evaluation of degradation mechanism of polyolefins, and development of non-destructive evaluating methods - Toshio Igarashi, Kanazawa University
2:30 pm - 3:00 pm CHARACTERIZATION OF SLOW CRACK GROWTH RESISTANCE OF POLYETHYLENE PIPE GRADES WITH CYCLIC CRACKED ROUND BAR (CRB) TEST IN CORRELATION TO STRAIN HARDENING (SH) TEST- Isabelle Berger, Polymer Competence Center Leoben GmbH
3:00 pm - 3:30 pm A novel approach to evaluate lifetime of complex plastic applications Part I: Short fiber reinforced plastics (SFRP)- Joel Thambi, Scientist, SABIC
3:30 pm - 4:00 pm The Cyclic Cracked Round Bar Test as a new standard for accelerated material ranking of polyethylene pipe grades - Andreas Frank, Researcher, Polymer Competence Center Leoben GmbH
4:00 pm - 4:30 pm Statistical Characteristics in Uniaxial Ductile and Semi-Brittle Tensile Fracture in Polypropylene Films- Chun-Yao Li, Kanazawa University
4:30 pm - 5:00 pm NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF DISCONTINUOUS SLOW CRACK GROWTH OF SEMI-ELLIPTICAL SURFACE CRACK IN POLYETHYLENE BASED ON CRACK LAYER THEORY- Jung-Wook Wee, Korea University
The second session will be from 200 PM to 600 PM on Tuesday May 9th. This session is hosted by the Plastic Pipe and Fittings SIG and will conclude with a best-paper award presentation sponsored by Lubrizol's Corzan® Industrial Systems. The award recognizes technology advancements for thermoplastic piping systems.
2:00 pm - 2:30 pm A NEW METHOD TO CHARACTERIZE ENVIRONMENTAL STRESS CRACKING RESISTANCE (ESCR) OF POLYETHYLENE (PE) AND ITS PIPES - Ben Jar, Professor, University of Alberta
2:30 pm - 3:00 pm A New Test Setup for Testing Polyethylene Tubes under Constant and Cyclic Internal Pressures - Siavash Vahidi, Ph.D Student, Drexel University
