- In 2004 I spearheaded the establishment of a full-fledged flexible packaging converter under the name MTech SA (Pty) Ltd.
- Over the past 19 years as CEO of MTech SA, I have successfully grown MTech SA into the Top 5 largest privately owned flexible packaging converters in sub-Saharan Africa.
- Successfully implemented ISO9001 QMS and FSSC22000 FSMS.
- Oversaw the implementation of TOC (Theory of Constraints) methodology into our Accounting and Production Departments.
- Benefits of TOC included a Net Profit increase of 300% (3x), a reduction in working capital (WIP and Raws) of circa 45% and an increase in output of circa 85%.
- Have managed a national sales team of as many as 11 individuals over the past 19 years have grown MTech SA’s revenue by more than 21x (21,000%).
- Worked with raw material suppliers to develop proprietary BOM’s (Bill of Material) with brand names to ensure we protect MTech’s IP.
- Provided technical assistance to customers looking to replace film structures which were not environmentally friendly or not recyclable.
- Found innovative ways to reduce the number of colors being printed without negatively impacting on the output by utilizing my combined knowledge of the gravure printing process as well as the graphic design processes and software used.
- Have extensively travelled the globe auditing raw material suppliers and identifying competent converting machinery suppliers.
- Have identified and built relationships with suppliers of raw materials and converting machinery all over the world and have established Supply Agreements and Performance Reviews to ensure these relationships add value both ways.
