Bryan Hauger Consulting Completes First Year of Operations
It is important to look back from time to time as a part of thinking about the future. After completing this first year, I am deeply thankful to all the clients who have trusted me with this confidential consulting. The first year included so many highlights it is difficult to pick just a few. However, the publication of the 70 page paper for EPRI in support of the addition of HDPE pipe to ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III stands above the rest. I was also very pleased that my presentation at the Polyolefins Conference in Houston titled “Recent Trends in Polyolefin Pipe Technology and Markets” was so well attended. I am looking forward to my presentation at ANTEC later this month titled "QUALIFICATION TESTING AND LONG-TERM DURABILITY OF PLASTIC-LINED METALLIC PIPE, FITTINGS AND FLANGES FOR CORROSIVE APPLICATION". Later this year, I will attend ASM F17 in April and the Plastic Pipe Institute meeting in May. I am excited to be named the Technical Program Chair for the Plastic Pipe and Fittings SIG for 2016 and I hope that my friends in the industry will support our session at ANTEC 2016 with another set of great talks. It is deeply gratifying that the daily hard work of meeting client needs for confidential consulting continues to generate new project interest. My wide range of interests include catalyst research, additive stabilization, plastics extrusion trouble-shooting and productivity enhancement, durability of plastics, polyolefin piping, joining methods for plastic pipe, composite piping, ASTM standards consulting, and intellectual property consulting. This 2015, I am focused on adding expert witness work and enhancing opportunities for my first employee, Hing Chan. I'm hopeful that 2015 will bring the same type of interesting range of consulting projects I have enjoyed working on thus far. Thank you again to all my clients for their trust and allowing our company to make our motto "Our Only Product is a Satisfied Client" a reality.

Speakers Announced for TEPPFA Forum 2015
This morning’s press release shows that The European Plastic Pipe and Fittings Association (TEPPFA) has pulled together a strong program for the meeting scheduled to take place on 13-14 April 2015 at the Hotel Le Plaza, Brussels. Aside from a wide variety of European expert speakers, this meeting will feature two notables from the United States. The conference will include presentations by Tony Radoszewski (President: Plastics Pipe Institute) and a keenly awaited presentation by Michael Pluimer for his new company, Crossroad Engineering Services. That presentation is titled "Field Performance of Corrugated HDPE Pipe Manufactured with Post-Consumer Recycled Materials under Railroads". TEPPFA Forum 2015 is certain to appeal to attendees from the plastic pipe industry.

NTSB Releases Information on Deadly Harlem Gas Explosion
The National Transportation Safety Board investigation into the March 2014 gas explosion continues. Critical documents relating to their investigation are available online including a greater than 40 page report titled “Operations Group Factual Report DCA-14-MP-002”. A final report is anticipated later this summer.

Another New York Gas-Related Explosion
Manhattan suffered another explosion yesterday leading to the collapse of two buildings. Mayor Bill de Blasio said “preliminary evidence suggests a gas-related explosion” due to recent plumbing and gas work. This explosion comes just one year after the East Harlem explosion that killed eight.
